Having horse insurance is equally as important as having your horse microchipped, and is an important part of responsible horse ownership.
If your horse suffers an illness or injury the last thing you want to worry about is the cost of unexpected veterinary treatment.
It’s important to be aware that not all horse insurance is the same, so don’t shop around on price alone. For example, some policies apply a percentage based excess on Veterinary Fees claims, or only cover older horses for injury but not illness.
British Pet Insurance horse policies can include:
- Up to £6,000 in Veterinary Fees per condition
- Alternative or Complementary Treatment

- British Pet Insurance will also provide illness and injury cover up to 25 years of age, as long as your horse is insured before the age of 20
